On the eve of its Season 3 premiere, Comedy Central’s series Inside Amy Schumer has been renewed for a fourth season. Schumer made the announcement on Late Show with David Letterman tonight. It’s been a big week or so for Schumer, who also hosted the MTV Movie Awards and saw her Comedy Central series receive a Peabody Award.
“I’m so happy to keep the Inside Amy Schumer family together,” Schumer said. “Excited and scared for everyone to see what we do next.”
The Emmy-nominated Inside Amy Schumer, created by Schumer and Daniel Powell, explores topics revolving around sex and relationships and is made up of scripted vignettes, stand-up comedy, and man-on-the-street interviews. Schumer and Powell executive produce along with head writer Jessi Klein. Tony Hernandez and Steve Ast also serve as executive producers, Kim Caramele and Kevin Kane as producers.
In the current third season, Schumer dates a rapper, tries to get birth control, meets her heroes and watches as her fate is decided by an all-male jury. The roster of guest stars include Jerry Seinfeld, Paul Giamatti, Dennis Quaid, Jeff Goldblum, Josh Charles, Method Man, Rob Morrow, Kathy Najimy, America Ferrara, Natasha Lyonne and Justin Long.
This year also will mark Schumer’s feature debut with the Judd Apatow-directed Universal comedy Trainwreck, which she wrote and stars in.
