Oscar-winning producer Edward Zwick will receive the Cinema Audio Society‘s Filmmaker Award at the 50th CAS Awards on February 22 at the Millennium-Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles. His directing credits include the Academy Award-winning films Glory and Legends Of The Fall. Zwick also produced, with Marshall Herskovitz, the Oscar-nominated film I Am Sam, as well as Traffic. Zwick received an Oscar as producer for Best Picture winner Shakespeare In Love and has been honored with three Emmy Awards, two Humanitas Prizes, three Writer’s Guild of America Awards, two Peabody Awards, a Director’s Guild of America Award, and the Franklin J. Schaffner Alumni Award from the American Film Institute. The CAS’ already announced career achievement recipient is veteran re-recording mixer Andy Nelson. Previous recipients of the filmmaker award include Quentin Tarantino, Gil Cates, Bill Condon, Paul Mazursky, Henry Selick, Taylor Hackford, Rob Marshall and Jonathan Demme.
