Skydance Productions has hired Anne Globe to be its first Chief Marketing Officer. She’ll oversee marketing, publicity, branding, licensing and promotion for all Skydance projects and report to CEO David Ellison. She consulted on a number of live-action and animated films and was CMO for DreamWorks Animation. Among the films she worked on there were Shrek, Madagascar, and How to Train Your Dragon, and myriad other tie-ins and initiatives in features and TV projects.
Said Ellison: “As Skydance continues to grow, we found it crucial to have an in-house executive to oversee all aspects of marketing. Anne’s creative approach, depth of knowledge and wide-ranging experience is exactly what we need to lead Skydance into the future. We are very lucky to have her.”
Said Globe: “David has built a world class production company and I look forward to working with him and the amazing team at Skydance to continue their expansion into a top tier media and entertainment brand.”
While Paramount has been going through some upheaval, marketing is solid under Megan Colligan. But Skydance is getting more ambitious each year, particularly as it branched into TV. The sitcom Grace And Frankie will debut on Netflix on May 8, and WGN America renewed for a second season the drama series Manhattan. On the film side, Terminator Genisys will be released July 1 and they are wending their way toward completing Mission: Impossible 5 and making Geostorm. Later this year they’ll start production on Star Trek 3.
