Spartacus alumna Lesley-Ann Brandt has landed one of the female leads in Fox’s drama pilot Lucifer, from Jerry Bruckheimer TV and Warner Bros TV. She replaces Lina Esco, who was originally cast in the role. The change was made after the pilot’s table read, with Esco released and Brandt, who also had tested for the role, brought in.
Based on the characters from the DC Entertainment’s Vertigo, the show centers on Lucifer (Tom Ellis) who, bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals. Brandt will play Lucifer’s best friend Maze, a fierce demon in the form of a beautiful young woman.
Brandt, who has recurred on Single Ladies and The Librarians, is repped by Innovative Artists and Luber Roklin.
