EXCLUSIVE: Doctor Who‘s Jenna Coleman and Game Of Thrones‘ Charles Dance have been set for Me Before You, the Thea Sharrock-directed adaptation of the Jojo Moyes bestseller for MGM and New Line. They join GOT‘s Emilia Clarke and Hunger Games‘ Sam Claflin. Sharrock is the acclaimed theater director of Broadway’s Equus and the BBC miniseries The Hollow Crow. Moyes wrote the script with The Fault In Our Stars‘ duo Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber. Karen Rosenfelt is producing with Alison Owen and Sue Baden-Powell is exec producer.
The film tells the story of two very different characters: Lou (Clarke), a small town girl caught between dead-end jobs; and Will (Claflin), a high-profile, successful man who becomes wheelchair bound following an accident. Will has decided his life is not worth living until Lou is hired for six months to be his new caretaker. Worlds apart and trapped together by circumstance, the two get off to a rocky start. Lou becomes determined to prove to Will that life is worth living and as they embark on a series of adventures together, each finds their world changing in ways neither of them could begin to imagine.
Coleman is represented by Troika Talent; Dance by Tavistock Wood Management.
