CMT development exec Michael Maniaci is moving to DiGa, the reality and scripted production company helmed by former MTV President Tony DiSanto, as director of programming and development. He will report to DiSanto and DiGa VP of production Tommy Coriale. Maniaci’s hiring come on the heels of the departure of DiSanto’s partner at DiGa, Liz Gateley, to head programming for Lifetime.
“I had the opportunity to work closely with Michael when he was on the network side, and was impressed by his creative instincts, clear vision and collaborative spirit,” said DiSanto. “His specific experience developing and producing a variety of content as both a buyer and a seller, coupled with his strong comedic sensibility, makes him the perfect fit for DiGa as we ramp up our slate of comedy and alternative formats.”
At CMT, Michael developed The Ed Bassmaster Show, American Speed: The True Story Of NASCAR, and Gainesville, which he also executive produced along with Swamp Pawn. Prior to joining CMT he was Director of Development at Pipeline 39 Entertainment.
