One of Masters Of Sex‘s favorite couples is back. Heléne Yorke, who recurred heavily on Season 1, is returning for the upcoming third season of the period drama. Yorke plays Jane Martin, the seemingly unassuming hospital secretary who became Virginia Johnson’s (Lizzy Caplan) first major recruit for her sex study with Dr. William Masters (Michael Sheen). Jane went on to star in the video footage for the study, earning the affection of the aspiring filmmaker hired to shoot it, Lester (Kevin Christy). The duo’s quirky chemistry and budding romance were a highlight of Masters Of Sex‘s first season but that was shelved in Season 2 because Yorke was unavailable, co-starring in Bullets Over Broadway on stage. (Yorke only appeared in the second season premiere.) Back then, Masters Of Sex creator/executive producer Michelle Ashford said that the producers would try to bring Yorke back when possible, maybe in Season 3, and that is now a reality.
Set in 1966, Season 3 finds the scientific pair of Masters (Sheen) and Johnson (Caplan) in the spotlight with the unveiling of their sex study. Masters and Johnson’s research will add fuel to the fire of the Sexual Revolution and guide more contemporary relationships, including Jane’s as she returns to re-kindle her romance with Lester (Christy).
Yorke, repped by Gersh and Regarding Entertainment, recently appeared on Person Of Interest and will be seen in the upcoming feature X-Mas with Seth Rogen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
