EXCLUSIVE: Michael Nyqvist has joined the cast of I.T., the indie revenge thriller that Pierce Brosnan is toplining and producing. He joins a cast that’s shaping up to be a good one, with Brosnan, Stefanie Scott, James Frechville and Anna Friel already aboard.
In the John Moore-directed pic, Brosnan plays a self-made man who has it all: A gorgeous wife, a beautiful teenage daughter and a sleek, state-of-the-art smart home. His company is on the verge of changing the aircraft leasing business forever, when his relationship with Ed Porter, his I.T. consultant, sours. He soon finds himself in a deadly high-stakes game of cat-and-mouse when Ed starts stalking his daughter and using technology to threaten his family, his business and his life. The original script was written by Dan Kay and Bill Wisher, with Moore and Wisher doing the rewrite.
Nyqvist, so good in the Swedish Girl With The Dragon Tattoo movies, will play a mysterious fixer who helps Brosnan’s character save his family and bridge the gap between the digital and analog worlds. The actor, whose recent credits include John Wick and Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, is repped by Authentic Talent and Literary.
Voltage Pictures is selling the film at Cannes and the pic is in preproduction in Dublin. The film is being produced by Voltage Films, Friendly Films and Brosnan and Beau St. Clair’s Irish Dreamtime. David T. Friendly, Craig Flores, Nicolas Chartier and St. Clair are producers, and Macdara Kelleher, Frank Hildebrand and Elyka Portnoy are exec producers.
