Josh Harto has landed a role in Gold, the Stephen Gaghan-directed film starring Matthew McConaughey and Edgar Ramirez. McConaughey plays a businessman who is given an opportunity to buy into a buried river of gold in Indonesia but eventually learns that the deal is not what it seems. Harto will play Lloyd Stanton, the businessman’s bank account manager who has to tolerate him Wells his vulgar lifestyle while he does business with the bank. Harto, whose credits include The Lifeguard, Unthinkable and The Dark Knight, next appears in Steven Spielberg’s Bridge Of Spies. He is repped by Greene & Associates.
Raul Castillo has joined the cast of Special Correspondents, Ricky Gervais’ satirical comedy for Netflix. Eric Bana stars as a New York-based radio journalist who tries to boost his career by filing supposed frontline war reports from the comfort of his hideout in Manhattan. Castillo’s role was not disclosed. He appeared on HBO’s Looking and will reprise his role in the upcoming movie. Castillo, repped by CAA and TMT Entertainment, next appears in Finding Albie Finch, Sweets and Staring At The Sun.
Darrell Britt-Gibson has collared a role in Keanu, the catnapping tale starring Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele. Britt-Gibson will play Trunk in the pic, which finds Key & Peele going undercover as drug dealers to rescue their cat who was abducted by a street gang. Britt-Gibson, repped by Gersh and Industry Entertainment, recently had arcs on Power, You’re The Worst and Californication and also appeared on The Wire.
Mikaela Hoover is the latest casting in The Belko Experiment, the Greg McLean-helmed horror pic written and being produced by James Gunn. She will play Raziya Memarian. Hoover appeared in Gunn’s Guardians Of The Galaxy, and other recent credits include Playing It Cool, Saint George and The League. Repped by APA and Management 360, she next stars in indie horror film Rock Paper Dead.
