Amy Poehler continues to move on with life after Pawnee by betting on fellow SNL alum Will Ferrell and The House. She is in negotiations to star with him in the pic about a couple who blow their daughter’s college fund and start a casino in their suburban basement to win back the money – and their kid’s respect. Deadline reported exclusively in February that New Line won a heated auction for the film, committing to a low-$40 million budget and looking at an August start date in L.A. for a summer 2016 release. The script is from the Neighbors duo of Brendan O’Brien and Andrew Cohen, with the latter also directing.
Having wrapped her starring run on Parks And Recreation in February, Poehler next will star with her former Globes-hosting partner and fellow SNL veteran Tina Fey in the comedy Sisters, which opens December 18. She also recurs on and exec produces NBC’s Welcome to Sweden.
