XLrator Media has inked with Parkside Pictures and Tadross Media Group in deal to build a multi-picture production slate the companies will co-produce and distribute worldwide. There already is a first film in the pipeline: action thriller If, written and to be directed by Mario Van Peebles. Shooting starts in the fall on the pic.
XLrator already has co-production deals with New Artists Alliance for three sci-fi thrillers and Benattar/Thomas for three action-thrillers. Parkside is financing some of the pictures in those deals as well.
Indie distrin XLrator plans to release 25 films in 2015. Its recent releases include Jimi: All Is By My Side and SXSW pics Housebound and The Mule and sci-fi thriller Time Lapse. It also runs genre labels Macabre and Turbo.
“This new pact provides an exciting turn-key finance and global distribution platform for seasoned genre filmmakers and for emerging new talent from around the globe,” said XLrator Media CEO Barry Gordon.
Gordon unveiled the deal with Parkside founding partners Danny Roth and Damiano Tucci, TMG president Michael Tadross Jr. and Chris Conover of Hudson Private.
