DreamWorks Animation has hired former Fox communications executive Dan Berger as head of corporate communications for the company, filling the void left by Chip Sullivan who took at job over at NBC in corporate communications in April.
Berger, who spent nine years over at Fox in a number of senior communication jobs, will start on July 27 in the Glendale-based offices. The company has released 31 feature films to date, including a number of franchise properties like How to Train Your Dragon, Kung Fu Panda and Shrek to name a few. The next property that will come out from DreamWorks Animation is Kung Fu Panda 3 next year on January 29. The hiring comes as stock has been under scrutiny. However, shares rose after Home‘s $54M opening in March. That picture has since grossed $367.8M worldwide.
Prior to joining DWA, Berger worked from 2009-2013 as VP Communications for News Corp. (21st Century Fox’s corporate predecessor). He also served as VP Corporate Communications for Fox Interactive Media. His currently role is Senior VP Corporate Communications.
From 2002-2oo6, he worked in PR at Yahoo! and before that worked at Edelman Worldwide and GCI Group.
