Plans for the Governors Ball that follows the Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony on September 20, as well as the Creative Arts Ball on September 12, are well underway. The Television Academy revealed details this morning. The theme for both nights—“Reigning with Radiance”—will be realized in Swarovski crystals in the décor, including 27-foot chandeliers, over 750 floral arrangements, and a menu that includes such mystery ingredients as “cara crakine” and “bearnaise espuma.” A staff of 1,000 will cater to upwards of 4,000 guests, who will consume an estimated 100 gallons of wine and 1,500 pounds of beef. Event producer Cheryl Cecchetto of Sequoia Productions is working with Governors Ball Committee Co-chairs Barbara Cassel and Geriann McIntosh to offer guests a “once in a lifetime experience.” Also on hand will be Patina Restaurant Group working in the kitchen; they’ve offered up recipes of some of the evening’s menu on a special website the TV Academy has put together on the celebrations.
