Cynthia Rapp has joined 20th Century Fox’s Consumer Products division as SVP Global Creative to oversee creative, project management and product development. She will be responsible for leading new projects from inception to launch, reporting to division president Jeffrey Godsick. They will work together to set strategy and creative direction for their brands and develop new brands.
The new Fox executive also will contribute to the long-term creative vision for the department representing all brands as they capitalize on revenue streams around the globe. The post is an important one for the studio in that it straddles television and film properties. Merchandising and licensing feeds a significant revenue stream into all entertainment companies.
Rapp also has experience in handling for strategy for global brands including Cartoon Network, Mattel, L’Oreal, Liz Claiborne and Calvin Klein. Most recently, she served as Chief Marketing Officer at Stila Cosmetics, overseeing all brand strategy, advertising, online, social media, creative and public relations efforts during a period of rapid growth. She was responsible for identifying and directing trends, setting direction for product development and managing retail strategies.
“Cynthia is a creative visionary who brings strong experience in several areas of the industry including entertainment, fashion and toys, having worked on a wide array of successful brands,” said Godsick in making the announcement . “She has the brand acumen to create long-term strategic visions and will be instrumental to our continued growth, further strengthening the consumer products division globally.”
