The mask came off and the killer was revealed last night on the MTV series based on the 1990s film franchise directed by Wes Craven, who died Sunday. No more spoilers here if you haven’t seen the Season 1 finale of Scream, but we can tell you that the ratings saw a pitched rise for the Viacom-owned network.
Last night’s season ender for the renewed series was watched by 756,000 total viewers, with 434,000 among adults 18-49 for a 0.34 rating. That’s up 21% over last week’s low in the demo rating and 36% in total viewership.
That’s also the best Scream has done in viewers since the 802,000 who watched its July 21 show. The most recent episode to perform better among the 18-49s was the July 14 show, which had 499,000 in the demo. Scream debuted on June 30 to 1.026 million total viewers and 573,000 among adults 18-49 – all highs for the series.
Scream is a co-production between MTV and The Weinstein Company’s Dimension TV. Craven was an EP on the series along with Jill Blotevogel and Jaime Paglia. Tony DiSanto, Liz Gateley, Marianne Maddalena and Cathy Konrad also are executive producers on the show with John Shiban as a consulting producer
