Robert Wagner is joining Noomi Rapace, Glenn Close and Willem Dafoe on the sci-fi action thriller What Happened To Monday?, which is shooting in Bucharest, Romania. The film is set in a blighted, overpopulated future where governments have been forced to enact drastic population-control measures limiting people to one child. But one family has circumvented the restrictions, raising identical septuplet girls who each get to spend one day of the week out in the world, sharing the identity of one person and the name Karen Settman, while at home they’re named after a different day of the week — Monday, Tuesday, etc. Things go south when Monday fails to come home on her day.
Wagner will play Charles Benning, a respected TV newsman in the vein of Edward R. Murrow. The cast is rounded out by Marwan Kenzari, Christian Rubeck and Pal Sverre Hagen.
From Vendôme Pictures and Raffaella Productions, and fully financed by SND, Tommy Wirkola (Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters) directs from a script by Kerry Williamson and Max Botkin. Raffaella De Laurentiis of Raffaella Productions and Philippe Rousselet of Vendôme Pictures are producing with Fabrice Gianfermi. Executive producers are Guy Stodel from Vendôme and Thierry Desmichelle from SND.
Wagner is repped by Binder & Associates and Rogers & Cowan.
Jeanne Tripplehorn and Callum Keith Rennie have joined Little Pink House, joining the previously announced Catherine Keener in the drama about the infamous Kelo v. City of New London decision by the U.S. Supreme Court. The film tells the story of Susette Kelo (Keener), whose titular house became the symbol of opposition to an abuse of eminent domain when the city of New London, CT moved to hand over a working-class neighborhood for development by a pharmaceutical giant. Though the city ultimately won the legal battle, it proved ruinous when the proposed development was abandoned, leaving the former neighborhood an empty lot, with the city’s coffers depleted by tens of millions of dollars and the loss of 1500 jobs.
Tripplehorn will play Charlotte Wells, the wealthy New London citizen who led the town’s efforts to seize the land, while Rennie will play Tim LeBlanc, Susette’s love interest and moral support throughout the crisis.
It’s written and directed Courtney Moorehead Balaker, who based her script on the nonfiction book of the same name by Jeff Benedict. Balaker is producing, along with Ted Balaker and Joel Soisson, with executive production by Shawn Williamson. Arielle Boisvert is co-producing; Shawn Williamson’s Brightlight Pictures will also co-produce. The film is scheduled to begin shooting in Vancouver soon.
Tripplehorn is repped by Gersh; Rennie is repped by Hodgson Management Group and APA.
