Syfy has announced premiere dates for its new alien drama Hunters from The Walking Dead executive producer Gale Anne Hurd, and returning time travel thriller 12 Monkeys. The first 13-episode season of Hunters will debut at 10 PM Monday, April 11 and Season 2 of 12 Monkeys will follow a week later, bowing at 9 PM Monday, April 18.
Written by Natalie Chaidez (Heroes), Hunters is based on Whitley Strieber’s best-selling novel Alien Hunter. It chronicles the disappearance of a decorated Philadelphia cop’s wife, which leads him to a secret government unit assembled to hunt a group of ruthless terrorists — shadowy figures that may or may not be from this world. Nathan Phillips, Britne Oldford and Julian McMahon star.
12 Monkeys, based on the 1995 feature film, follows the journey of Cole (Aaron Stanfrod), a time traveler sent back in time from a dark, hellish future to prevent it from ever happening. Joining forces in the present with Dr. Railly (Amanda Schull), Cole must defeat a centuries-old malevolent organization known as the Army of the 12 Monkeys. As Cole, Railly and their unlikely allies get closer to the truth, they’ll learn there are deadly consequences for all of history … and time itself. Cast also includes Kirk Acevedo, Emily Hampshire, Barbara Sukowa and Todd Stashwick.
Terry Matalas and Travis Fickett are executive producers and showrunners for 12 Monkeys, with Charles Roven and Richard Suckle as executive producers.
