EXCLUSIVE: Writer-director Nicolas Pesce, whose feature film debut The Eyes Of My Mother premieres in the NEXT section of the Sundance Film Festival on Friday, has inked with UTA and Washington Square Films. The signing puts him the same rep camp with Josh Mond, Sean Durkin, and Antonio Campos’ Borderline Presents, the label just launched by film collective Borderline Films that is aboard as Mother‘s executive producers.
Shot in black and white, Mother explores the dark obsessions of a lonely young woman in the wake of life-altering tragedy in the countryside. Jacob Wasserman, Schuyler Weiss, and Max Born produced.
Pesce, an NYU Tisch School of the Arts grad, has directed music vidoes for Tei Shi (“Bassically” and “Nevermind The End”) and Show Me the Body (“Bone Soup”) He has done live video work for the likes of Snoop Dogg and The Black Keys, and has developed an animated series starring Malcolm McDowell, J.K. Simmons and Colin Quinn.
