EXCLUSIVE: Our House is based on Matt Osterman’s 2010 sci-fi pic Ghost From The Machine which was handled by XYZ Films. The company is now teaming with Davis Entertainment to update it as Our House starring Thomas Mann (Me And Earl And The Dying Girl) and helmed by Anthony Scott Burns in his feature directing debut. XYZ is handling worldwide sales and will co-rep U.S. with WME Global kicking off at the EFM next month. Production starts in Vancouver in April.
Moon scribe Nathan Parker wrote the script for Our House which focuses on Ethan (Mann) who is left suffering enormous guilt after his parents are killed in a car accident. He quits a promising future at MIT and work on a revolutionary experiment in order to care for his younger siblings. Realizing the capabilities of his experiment extend far beyond their original intent and fueled by a desire to connect one last time with his parents, Ethan gets back to work. His attempt is successful, but instead of his parents, he brings something else back.
John Davis and Derek Dauchy of Davis Entertainment and Nick Spicer and Kyle Franke of XYZ Films are producing.
Mann’s other credits include Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters and Project X. He’s soon up in Legendary and Warner Bros’ Kong: Skull Island. He’s repped by Innovative Artists.
Canadian filmmaker Burns is attached to direct Lionsgate’s Alpha, which has Brad Pitt producing with his Plan B partners Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner from Robopocalypse author Daniel H. Wilson’s script. Burns is repped by WME.
