Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley are game to reunite with New Line Cinema. The Spider-Man: Homecoming screenwriters have been hired to rewrite Game Night, the pic being produced by Jason Bateman‘s Aggregate Films. Goldstein and Daley, who made their directorial debut on last summer’s Vacation reboot for New Line that grossed $104.9 million worldwide, are also attached to direct this one.
Game Night follows a group of couples gather for their regularly planned game night when something goes terribly awry. New Line originally acquired the ensemble comedy pitch from scribe Mark Perez in 2013. Bateman and Aggregate’s James Garavente are producing with Davis Entertainment’s John Davis and John Fox. Bateman could also star; he did the same for the Goldstein- and Daley-penned Horrible Bosses.
In addition to writing the next installment of the Spider-Man franchise at Sony for director Jon Watts, Goldstein and Daley are producing the action-comedy Stuber at 20th Century Fox. They are repped by UTA and Hansen Jacobson.
