Like its other counterparts, ABC is launching the bulk of its fall lineup during the traditional premiere week of September 19. That includes high-profile new drama Designated Survivor starring Kiefer Sutherland (September 21) and fellow new drama Notorious (September 22). For ABC, the season is being kickstarted by the Primetime Emmy Awards telecast Sunday night, September 18, which the network is hosting this year. As usual, Dancing With The Stars is kicking off the fall with an early debut — a September 12 opening for the veteran reality series’ 23rd season.
Like other networks, ABC is delaying the premiere of its new Monday drama Conviction until October 3 as the nets are clearing Monday, September 26 for a Presidential debate.
Last to hit the air will be ABC’s new two-hour Tuesday comedy block including new series American Housewife, which will succeed Dancing on the night on October 11.
