Breaking Bad alumna Emily Rios and Michael Hyatt (Ray Donovan) are the latest to sign on as series regulars in FX’s Snowfall, John Singleton’s 1980s cocaine-epidemic drama pilot. Co-created and executive produced by the Boyz N The Hood director Singleton and Erick Amadio, and directed by El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, the pilot has been undergoing a revamp.
Rios will play Lucia, the self-possessed daughter of a Mexican crime family that imports and sells marijuana throughout Los Angeles. Hyatt will portray Sharon “Cissy” Saint, he no-nonsense mother of Franklin (Damson Idris). Frustrated in both her personal and professional lives, Cissy has sacrificed her dreams to give Franklin opportunities she never had.
Rios, whose credits also include The Bridge, is repped by Domain and Kass Management. Hyatt also recurred on Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and appeared in feature Nightcrawler. She’s repped by Robyn Bluestone Management.
