OK, let’s try to wrap our heads around the following: Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Republican former governor of California, just talked about global warming at the Democratic National Convention. No, he didn’t make a backlit entrance for an impassioned speech, but he is among the narrators and appears in “Not Reality TV,” a video about climate change produced by James Cameron that was shown in Philadelphia and aired on TV. Watch it above.
The man who replaced Donald Trump as host of The Apprentice is seen working on a fire line in full gear. “Because of global warming,” he says in a voice-over, “the mountain snow now melts earlier each year. When that happens the ground dries up earlier too.” Not exactly toeing the party line.
The film was introduced by Avatar‘s Sigourney Weaver ahead of a speech by Californioa Gov. — and three-time presidential candidate — Jerry Brown, who spoke about climate change. “Trump says global warming is a hoax,” Brown told the crowd. “I say Trump is a fraud.”
Don Cheadle, Jack Black and America Ferrera also appear in the video, which calls Trump’s “reckless denial” of climate change “dangerous — a threat to your livelihood, your safety, your children and the prosperity of this nation.” It then cuts to clips of the GOP nominee talking dismissively on the subject. The Governator comes in at the 1:42 mark.
