Len Wiseman has signed a new two-year overall deal with 20th Century Fox TV. Under the pact, he will continue as executive producer on two 20th TV series, Sleepy Hollow and the upcoming A.P.B., while developing new projects for broadcast, cable, and streaming services.through his production company Sketch Films. Additionally, the intention is for Wiseman, who also executive produces the Fox/WBTV drama series Lucifer, to direct pilots.
Wiseman has emerged as an MVP and a pilot whisperer for 20th TV and its sister network Fox. He co-created alongside Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, and Phillip Iscove Sleepy Hollow. His direction of the pilot played a key role in its pickup to series. He then repeated the feat with two other Fox pilots that had been flying largely under the radar, Lucifer and A.P.B. Both scored series orders, with the latter even overcoming a showrunner change during the shoot.
“Len is a gifted artist who always delivers, both with substance and with spectacle,” said 20th TV president of creative affairs Jonnie Davis. “His insights as a director and producer are invaluable and he is an incredible collaborator. Everything he touches soars to the next level.”
In fact, all 4 pilots that Wiseman has directed have gone to series that are still on the air, returning Sleepy Hollow, Lucifer and CBS’ Hawaii Five-0 as well as newbie A.P.B., which Wiseman executive produces with Matt Nix.
“I’ve shared a fantastic collaboration over the years with Dana Walden and Gary Newman and the gang at 20th, and I am thrilled to continue with the team,” Wiseman said, “They’ve shown such support and trust in my vision on these projects, and that has been invaluable to me.”
Wiseman, who first entered an overall deal with 20th TV in 2013, is repped by CAA and attorney Howard Abramson.
