After 16 nights dominated by Olympics coverage on NBC, the broadcast networks’ primetime returned to its normal pattern last night. NBC’s unscripted series American Ninja Warrior (1.9 among adults 18-49, 7.0 million viewers in the fast nationals) and Running Wild with Bear Grylls (1.3, 4.1 million) rode post-Olympics momentum after getting promoted during the network’s Olympics programming. Ninja Warrior was up +19% in the demo from its last pre-Olympics telecast to match a season high and set a new season high in viewers, ranking as the top program of the night. Running Wild, featuring Courteney Cox, was up +18% in 18-49 and +30% in total viewers from its prior Monday outing. NBC won Monday in both 18-49 (1.7) and total viewers (6.0 million)
ABC’s lineup rebounded after facing the Olympics for the past two weeks. Bachelor In Paradise (1.2 in 18-49, 4.3 million) set season highs, up +14% in 18-49 and +11% in viewers from last week. Mistresses (0.6, 2.5 million) was up +20% in the demo, +19% in viewers.
Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance (0.7, 2.6 million), which was off during the Olympics, returned on par with its last telecast.
