The CW has unveiled key art designs for its new fall series Supergirl, Frequency and No Tomorrow.
Supergirl‘s key art features star Melissa Benoist as DC Comics character Kara Zor-El wrapped in her signature red cape, with the tag line “The CW has a new hero,” reflecting the series’ move from CBS.
In Supergirl, Kara (Benoist), Superman’s (Kal-El) cousin who, after 12 years of keeping her powers a secret on Earth, decides to finally embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be. As previously announced, Tyler Hoechlin joins Season 2 as Superman/Clark Kent and Lynda Carter as the U.S. President.
In Frequency, a reimaging of the New Line Cinema film, a female police detective (Peyton List) in 2016 discovers she is able to speak via a ham radio with her estranged father (also a detective), played by Riley Smith, who died in 1996. The key art reflects that storyline with “1996 Called” atop the image of Smith juxtaposed next to the image of List with “2016 Anwered”.
No Tomorrow centers on a risk-averse quality-control assessor (Tori Anderson), who falls in love with a freewheeling man (Joshua Sasse) who lives life to the fullest because he believes the apocalypse is imminent. The key art features Anderson and Sasse with the tagline “Life’s too short to play it safe.”
The art will appear in the network’s fall outdoor, print and digital marketing campaigns.
