Nick confirmed that the couple were living separately on Aug. 21, during an interview with The Insider. “There is trouble in paradise,” the America’s Got Talent host said. “We have been living in separate houses for a few months. My main focus is my kids,” he said of his 3-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe.
A source revealed to HollywoodLife.com exclusively what lead to the couple’s breakup, “He wanted to party and she wanted to stay home with the kids. He’s young, the age difference played a huge role in this.”
“She’s not easy to get along with … A total diva,” a source said. “Never happy and always making demands, he never wanted to be home. ”

Mariah’s rep told Us Weekly, “I don’t comment on Mariah’s personal life,” her rep said, “but Mariah is focusing on her children and her upcoming tour.”

Sources told the magazine, “It has been shaky for a while, but it all came to a head recently.” Even noting that Nick’s behavior has definitely been changed, “He’s more closed off this season,” a source said of Cannon’s usually “happy-go-lucky” personality,” while another insider added, “He never talks about Mariah, and she has never been to set in all the seasons he has hosted.”

A source dished to HollywoodLife.com exclusively, about the fights that drove the duo to separate, “Mariah doesn’t realize that Nick is young with a lot of talent and energy and, just like her, he’s trying to leave his mark and his legacy in Hollywood,” a source revealed. “He would never tell her not to work on a new album or not to be on QVC selling her items or not to do whatever it is she needs to do.”

Our source said that things just getting worse.“It got to a point where they wouldn’t agree on anything and Nick would always give into her demands. But the fighting and bickering drove them apart.”
