Brad himself has admitted to a drugged up past, even though he claims to have put the brakes on it to change his life when Angelina, 41, came along. In a candid interview with Esquire in June 2013, he shockingly revealed that he had years of hard living. “For a long time I thought I did too much damage – drug damage,” he said. “I was a bit of a drifter. A guy who felt he grew up in something of a vacuum and wanted to see things, wanted to be inspired. I followed that other thing.”

“I spent years f––ing off,” he continued. “But then I got burnt out and felt that I was wasting my opportunity. It was a conscious change. This was about a decade ago. It was a feeling of get up. Because otherwise, what’s the point?” This was around the time he turned 40 and became involved with Angelina as his marriage to Jennifer Aniston, 47, came to a crashing end.
While he might have cleaned up his drug use, Brad’s co-stars have pointed out his boozy ways for years now. His Inglorious Basterds co-star Samm Levine, 34, regaled of how the actor and director Quentin Tarantino, 53, were hardcore partiers during the film’s production. In Jan. 2010, he told Us Weekly that Brad was, “A fine drinking buddy. Between Brad and Quentin, I would die of alcohol poisoning on day two if I had to keep up with those guys!” Yikes, it sounds like they were really pounded back the drinks during filming.

As recently as 2015, Brad was allegedly drinking alarming amounts of whiskey on a daily basis. French actor Richard Bohringer, 74, told Closer magazine that when he worked with Brad and Angie on the film By the Sea, “They are curious, these American stars. Brad Pitt, he lives on whiskey. She is a funny girl. They’re a funny couple.” Lives on whiskey?! That was only a year ago so it sounds like his drinking habits weren’t exactly a secret to those around the pair.
Brad’s always been a good time kind of guy though. Who can forget the pic video during 2014’s Mardi Gras in New Orleans when he literally threw a can of beer across the street to Matthew McConaughey, 46, who was partying on a nearby balcony. Brad is seen on the balcony of his home smiling across to the Oscar winner and then mouths “Do you want a beer?” The answer was yes as Brad was caught on tape launching a brewsky to a delighted Matthew.
